Do you need a license if you hunt varmits--- that have no season-- on state of wildlife management land? Coyotes etc?

Have you checked the DNR hunting regulations yet?

No I haven't seen them. I'm not a hunter, might tag along with a friend on a coyote hunt so I was wondering If I had to buy a license.

I am not current on the licensing laws in MN regarding Coyotes but I presume if you are hunting you will need to be of legal age and have a hunter safety certification (assuming you are not grand fathered in because of age).

Yotes do not require a tag to hunt. you can hunt them anytime and use any legal weapon.

It may be a bit of a trick question-

You don't need a license or anything to "tag along" and not shoot.

You don't need a small game license to hunt varmints, but you do need to be hunter safety certified if you are going to pull a trigger, unless you are in a exempted group- either born before a certain date or have "equivalent" training (military training, LEO training, etc.) although I have never heard of a CO giving a ticket for that, but I have had one tell me that is the case-
