Seriously is .223 a good Predator Hunting caliber?

I hunt mainly in SWMN and regularly call coyotes in under 50yds. I've used handgun, shotgun, and rifle in multiple calibers.
The .223 does a very good job with the right bullet. The platform can be whatever you are comfortable with.
My two favorites are a Handi-rifle in .223 and a Rossi 92 carbine in 45 colt.
