E-callers?

Postby FJ540 on Mon Sep 22, 2014 1:16 am

Does anyone use an electronic caller for predators and crows?

I had a Primos Turbo Dogg for a couple weeks once, but that thing didn't fool my ear and I never did have anything else come in to it either. I also wasn't overly thrilled with it's lack of remote range.

What are some good ones that people are happy with?

Foxpro. Buy it directly from them and you get to pick all the sounds it comes with.

I've had the turbo dog, it was junk. I had the old Johnny Stewart prey master and the sound was good but I got sick of having tangled up wires and limited sounds.

I have the foxpro wildfire 2 and I love it. Been using it for a couple years now. Some say it doesn't have enough volume, I feel that that may be true out west in the open range but here in MN I've had no issues. You can also plug in an external speaker that'll bump up the volume big time.

Oh yeah, they're US made.

I have the foxpro fury with foxbang upgrade. It's a fantastic caller great remote and great range, my only problem is I don't get the opportunity to use it much. I bought mine straight from Foxpro also.

Squeaker and a rabbit distress call all I ever used.

I picked up a Hellfire on my way out of town and will probably give it a whirl tomorrow afternoon since it's too warm to hang a deer.

I appreciate the offer Gunny. I didn't see it until it was too late.

My NiMH batteries are getting charged up and ready to go. :)

I fired off some locater calls for giggles just now, and to my surprise - got a response!

Looks, er, sounds like I did see a yote last week when I was out walking (couldn't make it out in the brush). My fox have been strangely absent this summer and this could be why.
