The cabin is a Bucks Only zone so no opportunity there. My home is in a Managed Area so my tag is good for either/or as well as having a bonus tag available. With corn having been planted on both sides of the home property, odds are pretty good I'll have some venison this year. My only question will be to fill both tags at home if I have the chance or save the main tag for the cabin and try for a buck.

antlerless lottery results

I actually got it this year. Might be the first time getting lottery. The website says my preference level is 3. Anyone care to explain what that means?

Mine too - I suspect that means you're at the back of the line now?

This is the explanation for the preference level from the DNR web site.

Preference levels: Each year that you apply for an antlerless permit and don't get drawn for one, you earn a preference point until you are drawn. If you are a first-year applicant or a previous-year winner, you are a preference level 1. The higher your preference level, the better chance of getting a permit. For example, a preference level 2 has a better chance of getting an antlerless permit than a preference level 1. Group preference works the same way. You can apply as a group for some of our lottery drawings. Your group's preference would be the same as the preference level of the newest (lowest level) member of your group.

It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

You must be in the same zone that I am in.

So far everyone I hunt with in zone 184 got one, didn't see that many deer last year like we have in many year past, so kinda hard to justify.

Keep shooting does and you'll run out of deer.

Just because the DNR will sell you a tag, doesn't mean it's a good idea to shoot the breeders.

Thank you for the link. I was drawn for area 177. We are very doe heavy in our area.

Where abouts? I hunted area 159 for many years in the St. Croix State Forest. Now I am over in 157 on a small private plot. Had a lot of luck and good times in 159.
