Only way to know for sure is to "stun" it with a lead suppository and get an up close look. I believe they have been de-listed from the endangered species designation. The population is doing just fine. Think of yourself as a scientist doing work on migratory habits of indigenous canine species.....

Played around with the exposure a bit, and enlarged the head if that helps anyone ID it.
