Anyone know a good spot for Wabbits?

Postby Holland&Holland on Sat Feb 07, 2009 8:16 pm

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good spot within an hour of the twin cities (preferably south of the metro) for hunting late season rabbits. Wanted to take my kids out one last time before the season ends. I have hit a few of the WMAs in the past with no luck but will probably try a couple again if no one has any suggestions.

Did see someone posted similar back in November with no responses, but thought I would give it a try.

P.S. If anyone else is looking for a kid oriented rabbit hunt, I would not be opposed to getting a group together for such an outing on a warmer Saturday before the season ends on the 28th.

Try the Louisville swamp WMA, take 169 south all the way to Jordan and then take a right. Plenty of rabbit over there. Have fun with the kids :)
I have a Colt Python and you don't so what do I care...

My backyard is infested with cottontails, but it's a bit of a drive for you!
I got a fever, and the only prescription... is more cowbell!

I think the best spots for rabbits are going to be in farm groves.

+1 on that...I'd say you could come hunt in our front yard (I swear we've got a bunny breeding farm  ), but we're not in MN and we're quite a drive for a day with the kids!! We'll be "thinning the herd" in short order, now that the weather has let up a bit....

Thanks for all the suggestions, the Louisville swamp was running wild with them. Now just have to work on hitting the little buggers!

In-laws raise em, so we just go to the cages for em......
