Deer ‘25

Well, my deer season is over for the year.

No shooting, saw only one I would shoot at.

The positive side was despite the warm weather and the wind, I saw deer every day. The negative was the fawns were the only ones coming in.

Leaving a day early to chase buffalo.

This has been one of my least successful adult hunting seasons. I got out quite a bit, but camp infrastructure issues, family health issues, and generally uncooperative weather played a role.

When I get back I will try to get out after pheasants. The new lab should be big enough to try game farm birds by then!

I shot a small 6pt on Veteran's Day, and my brother shot a nice 8pt on the 15th. First time in many years that we've both shot a deer, and I think the first time ever that we've both shot bucks. At last count, we had 10 deer (9 bucks, one fawn) for our party (~20 hunters)
