I would highly recommend this class for anyone interested in Action Pistol competition. That is; IPSC (USPSA) or IDPA. Some Action Pistol clubs require that you show proof of some training (more than a Permit to Carry) before allowing you to shoot their matches. Even if your club does not, this type of class will introduce you to the sport of Action Pistol. It will teach you the proper safety rules required when drawing and moving with a handgun.

Strad the class is free... normally we have no restrictions on ammo, but seeing as it's you... we have to insist that you bring factory ammo.. leave your gun at home, and simply throw the bullets down range.

If you show up you will get meet me face to face. :D

important question, is talent required, because if not, then I might try and make that. Anyone who wants to rideshare from the south metro shoot me a p.m. and we can organize the details.
Now i see there is a requirement of a minimum of 50 rounds of ammo, be realistic, what should one bring. i am not trying to be difficult I just dont want to lug more of the heavy stuff around than I have to and as anyone who saw me shoot last year can attest to, I am amongst the best at making everyone else look good 8-)

We have shooters that range the gambit from very skilled, to novice. We focus on safety primarily. Being slow/deliberate won't raise anyone's ire, infact we really want new shooters to disregard the shot timer entirely and just have fun a their own pace. No one will give you **** for being slow, quite the opposite.

50 rounds is a minimum you should really bring more. We will have one 20 or 15 round course setup, and run through everyone a couple of times. Some shooters who don't have the necessary mag pouches/equipment, use their pockets to store magazines. You will get a better idea of what type equipment you need during the class. But as a min you should have the equipment listed, you can sub out pants pockets for mag pouches, if you don't have a holster we can either dig one up, or start you from low ready.

We had excellent turn out last year averaging 37 shooters every weds.. many of who come from the cities. The drive is closer to 1:15 if you live in a SE suburb. You should definitely come, as should anyone else from the board.

.45 acp comes cheap out of my basement. Its like magic.

if you swing by I'll tag along or drive from there. "Its not fun darlin', its training." Best line ever to squeak out of the house.

Do you have to be a good shot?

I'm a member of PIWPSC, but have never done an event there. I also live in PI.
