Guess I just figured to glue a piece of appropriate width of leather, nylon belt etc.

Has anyone used one?

Is it legal for production? The bullet is pointed away from your body instead of forward. The Max 2" offset required of USPSA is measured from the inside of the belt to the inside of the mag pouch correct?

Thought I might run down to Streichers and see what they may have that might work.

I'd be leary of these for two reasons:

1. Since they are close together, it makes it much more likely that you will pull out two mags when you meant to grab only one. If they are really stiff leather, then it makes it so you cant get enough purchase with your hand on only one mag to yank out that one. Remember, all this crazyness is on the clock and you are not looking at your mags when you reach for them.

2. Having bullets sideways is gonna be funky when you bring up your grabbed magazine into your magwell. It will be really important to twist your hand when grabbing mags to line the mag up so it slips into the gun. This could be overcome with practice, but when you get to the mags toward your back it gets contortional.

Either way they will physically work. It would just suck to get down the road a little and realize that you would like to buy normal gear. ;)

I can see the thinking for wanting them orientated all the same, Looking at some of the open rigs although all ammo points forward I see mag carriers set at almost horizontal 45deg to 90deg all on the same rig. Because of requirments of Production being ammo behind point of hip, The furthest rear mags with ammo forward it seems I have to break my wrist further maybe/maybe not. Think maybe body shape o vs O leaves less room to place equipment I also have wrist and shoulder problems that limit my movement to some extent. Surrender position I have to drop my right elbow in order to get my hand up to head height without discomfort etc etc etc doesnt keep me from playing I just have to adapt. I could probably use a rebuild from the ground up.

Ya ... I'll take back what I said 'bout that ... didn't figure they'd be back that far ... but by the time ya'd be into the 2nd group of three, that'd be awfully awkward to get a hold of ... almost be better to have the bullets towards yer body! Point I failed to make was, wherever yer hand has to be, to grab the mag, ideally it should be grabbin' it at mostly the same angle. Obviously, as they're oriented from the front of yer hip, to yer spine, that ain't possible w/o changin' how they're oriented, relative to yer body.

I shot (slowly) for the first time at Oakdale on 7/21/20011 USPSA.
On the site only the results for 7/14/2011 are posted....is this where to look for them and any idea when they will be published.

It was fun planning to be there next Thursday.
