Shoot House In MN?

Postby Grey Man on Thu Nov 03, 2011 9:13 pm

I'm looking for a range that has an indoor facility that I could have an instructor do a CQB class for civilians. Does anybody know of such a place? It will all be with blue guns and some airsoft, so really just a facility that has stairs, doors and some hallways would do.

Last I heard Annandale was for law enforcement only.
Yeah, but I shoot with THIS hand.

I was under the impression the Ann facility was LE only. When I worked for the Milacs tribe I tried to talk them into building one up north for training LE(they were on a huge kick to attract tribe members into LE) and also use it for shooting sports.

Heck it would have attracted hotel and casino business, but heck they are idiots and given they could have got federal money to build it for basically free given they had the land, they still did not do it.

You can use the ripley facility.

Just need to meet the requirements.

interesting - anything closer to the twin cities? At this point I'm going to have to find a house - no live rounds would be used all blue guns and airsoft.

For live fire, the only facilities I know of are SCALE in Jordan (which, last time I checked, was LEO only) and Camp Ripley.

If you are just using Airsoft/Blue guns, any facility you can get access to should work. I've had luck in the past contacting the owners of vacant buildings. If the building is for sale/lease, call the number posted and ask to talk to the owner about a one-day rental for training. If you have proper insurance and they are open to making some quick cash, you're good to go.

Make sure your insurance covers Force on Force; I had to get additional coverage because my Firearms Instructor coverage specifically excluded it.

ETA: I think we met on WT, check your PMs.

Grey Man,
Brother, I tried one old spot previously used, no luck. I contacted the current owner of the formerly-known-as South View Fitness Center in West St Paul. The bldg is still a shell (perfect for the training) but no water, can't let people use it. I would guess no heat either.
Perhaps if it's still not dozed or sold it could be used in the spring? Try calling later in the winter and check the potential availability.

Anyone interested in buying or renting can talk to Tom, (651) 428-5911.

Good luck finding a place.
