Forest Lake Practical Pistol Match

Postby plblark on Sat Sep 22, 2012 5:45 am

I shoot production which is limited to 10 rounds in the mag. Since you're just starting out and it's the end of the season, shoot limited. Load your mags to full capacity and aim carefully. 3 mags would give you ?46? Rounds to complete a~32 round course. That should work.

I can now place who you are. If you don't want to buy gear, I have a S&W M&P full size and holster/ mags/ mag pouches you could use. Or you could just use the mag pouches and your gun.

Just to let Rugersol know.... Got my dates wrong. Was up there last weekend. Seen Westburg at a Training session. I guess I got so excited since I haven't attended a match up there since 2008 that I was a week off, and back in MO today. Maybe in a couple more years I will get to shoot a match up there again. Otherwise, if they have Area 3 at COPS range again I will see you guys there.

Any one going happen to have a extra Ruger P95 magazine or 2, and a holster? I was going to go get a good kydex one and another mag but wife just put the stop to that. I could possibly run to wall mart and see if they have some thing that would work for a holster but I still would only have 2 Mags. Would 2 mags work?

Either that or does any one have extra EAA witness 10mm mags? I only have 1 for mine but I do have a holster.

if yer mags are 15rd, and ya don't got nuff left to finish a 32rd course, that's hardly the end of the world, and ya certainly wouldn't be the first! ... worst case keep the gun cased, and we'll start ya from low ready!

there's also a gouger mtn of the prior exit ... though I wouldn't bother fer a Ruger ... highly doubt they'd have it! ... possibly a mag, though!

pm Westberg ... if he's got one, he might bring it to the match!

Gander does not open till 10, Shooting starts at 10 that would be tough to be at both spots. I could handle doing the low ready but the needing another mag is the hard thing. I will see what I can come up with. I am at about 75% of being there even if I look like a complete fool out there :D

I have dealt with Westberg before. He is a very cool guy and who I got the holster for my witness 10mm.

A well run fun match at a facility that really wants to improve and grow for practical pistol. Oh, and a great fun squad. Well done all!

That was a great time I had a blast and want to thank rugersol for showing me the ropes and being patient with me. Also thanks to plblark for letting me use one of his mag pouches. I promise I will be all stocked up for next year.
