Twin Cities Rifle Ranges?

Postby sprigfan on Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:30 pm

Hey everyone,

I see that there is a range/shooting club sticky, but it just lists the names and no locations. Wheretoshoot.org wasn't much help either.

So what are the public rifle range options in the twin cities? The closer to Eagan the better, but I'm willing to drive. I need to get out with my AR and 30-06. Burnsville is still closed from the fire.

This is far from a complete list, but it is a list... These are ranges that you can go to or get a membership for, with no waiting list.

Google shooting ranges in Minnesota, or go to the Minnesota DNR and check there.
The list above is very limited as the poster said, there are a lot more ranges to look at. Take the names of the ranges from the sticky and paste them in Google, that will get you some more info as well.

Other wise just ask about what range intrests you and some one here can help direct you to the web sight for that range if they have one.

Just a coople here on the North and East side are:

Beaverbrook Gun club is in East Bethel
Bullseye is up off 35W by Wyoming
Gopher Range is up by Harris
OakDale is in (i think oak dale) or by St Paul east side any ways.
Elk River is up by Elk River
Isanti is up by Isanti

So there are a lot to chose from.

For open to the public, I don't think anyplace is closer than Oakdale right now. Maybe Dakota County Gun Club but I don't know if they are still having public hours. Oakdale is open to the public every day until the 18th I believe.

Thanks everyone. It's a challenge finding one that is nearby and is open to the public or currently accepting new members. Pistol is easy, just not rifle.

We just joined a very nice Gun Club called Rainbow Sportsmen Club, out it's in Cokato . They have rifle up to 300 yds as well as trap and sheet. The dues are $45 a year and no waiting line to join. It is all outdoors but if you ever want to go, (after it warms up a little) shoot me a pm and I'll take you as a guest. I'm in Edina so not too far from you.
