If you can't shoot on Thursdays, could you at least drop off a box or two of Drumsticks?
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Was $12 give or take. You would pay twice as much to have this much fun, believe me.

Is this better than USPSA?

Is this something a guy could shoot a few times or would you need to be there every week?

Of course! 8-)

Short answer: Yes!
You can shoot one match, or all of them, but you must shoot a minimum number (I haven't decided how many, yet) to be elligible for awards on Trophy Night.

Is this something that an inexperienced shooter could participate in? I bought my first handgun this past fall, I have shot numerous rounds through it but would like to do something that would increase my knowledge, skills, and confidence. I am planning on taking a defensive handgun course, but those seem to be on hold until spring.

What kind of shooting is performed in these kind of matches? Sorry for the "silly noob" question but I am just trying to learn. I have watched a few IDPA and USDPA maches on tv and YouTube they look like a lot of fun but I am nervous to get involved due to being so new to the handgun world.

Thanks for any input. PM me if you wish.

Burnsville Practical Pistol Winter League - 2013

There's at least one video of a match on YouTube , probably even find it earlier in this or a similar thread. As to experience level, I suspect if you understand and practice safe firearms handling you are likely qualified to participate. Attend the orientation WITH your shooting equipment.
Everyone had a first match at sometime; many of us quite recently. Don't scare yourself away.

It's MUCH better than a USPSA course outside in subzero temps in MN winter ;-)

Electronic muffs are a plus.....as you spend a lot of time talking w/ other shooters while waiting to shoot....noise levels are a bit higher as it's a small indoor space. Put Oakdale USPSA on your calendar for next year...shooting outdoors in the fresh air is very enjoyable.

I might be able to work something out along those lines!

Where is this range? I would like to check out a winter league since I'm off on Thursday. Are spectators welcome?

You'll be fine with a leather holster as long as you're safe.

It's in Burnsville off of 42 right by Sonic. When I started this I was going to just go and watch. Which I did watch. When I wasn't shooting I watched the other shooters, shoot. If you're going to show up why not shoot?

Sounds good to me. How many mags I recommended? I shot some USPSA over the summer but I'm still a novice and will be shooting a 9mm and concentrating on fundamentals.
