Was it a double tap or a ND?

I was pretty happy about that myself. 8-)

Does time count as much on the outdoor stages as it seems to indoors or is it more of a balance between time & accuracy?

Here is what I was told. You want to go as fast as you can with getting 85-90% of the points for the stage. Anything less and you went to fast. Anything more, go faster.

85-90 is a good target for starting out, but 90-95 is what wins matches. My and my buddies' wins at sectionals and area matches were like 91-92%. Stoeger and nils win national matches at 94-95%.

Accuracy gets under rated when first starting because you see the winners go so fast, and you see guys behind you going so slow, so you tend to conclude speed speed speed, particularly in pulling the trigger. The truth is points are powerful, and your slowness most likely comes from ALL your other actions that dont include pulling the trigger.

Things that matter...

1. Transitions
2. Reloads
3. Splits
4. Foot Speed
5. Draw Time

When you get to 4 and 5 their importance is almost nonexistent

Here's an example of how points matter:

"Zig-Zag Boxes" From the first match

Tizzo - 11 A's, 3 C's
Total Points: 64
Time: 11.55
Pt Rate: 5.54

PRS - 9 A's, 5 C's
Total Points: 60
Time: 10.95
Pt Rate: 5.48

And yes, I purposely chose this stage :D
