On another note.....has there been any word on if there's going to be a shotgun only match at Harris again this spring?
Yeah, but I shoot with THIS hand.

I haven't heard anything. Would be really awesome if they would host some multi-gun events that utilized their longer ranges.

I have tactical shotgun matches scheduled at Forest Lake Sportsman Club each month starting in April. The stages will be set up along a un-used sporting clays trail through the woods. I could use some help in stage design and running them.

I'm also interested in 3-gun events here, since we have ranges out to 400yds, again I need some help, maybe the MN3-gun group would have some interest?

Ron, if you guys can get something going with them, that would be great! Would like to know more about the tac shotgun matches, thanks.

Reading the rules for the limited class it states "Firearms must be of factory configuration".

I have a Beretta Extrema (my waterfowl gun) and was planning to order a cost effective tube extension for now instead of buying a new shotgun until I know what I like/dislike. Does the tube extension still qualify for limited or do I need to buy a new high-capacity shotgun in order to fall within the limited class? I believe the following mag tube would put my gun at 8+1 but need to know if it will disqualify me for limited.

Thanks. I can't wait to give this a try!

Great question. To all our new shooters out there, it's much better to ask than to hope to "wing it".
I think you may have "Outlaw" 3-gun rules confused with USPSA pistol rules. You can add any mag extension on a shotgun that you wish. Personally I run a 10 round tube on my Benelli M2. Now rules may stipulate how many rounds you can start with (which in most MN matches is 8-9, depending on the stage) but, you can add however many you want after the buzzer. These rules do vary by match, especially at major matches, so be sure to check the posted rules. For a good rundown on the rules you should check out the MN3Gun Group at http://www.mn3gungroup.org/.

As far as magazine extensions go I encourage you to look to Nordic Components. They are pretty much the staple in the market, are a local MN company and are a huge supporter of the shooting sports. They have their own web store, but are also carried by most of the large retailers such as Brownells and Midway. I would estimate 90% or better of serious 3-gunners are running Nordic tubes.

Please feel free to post any and all questions you may have.

I too highly recommend Nordic Components. They make stuff for the Beretta Extrema. Jay Schmitt has a $200 Nordic Certificate to outfit a shotgun with an extended magazine tube, spring, low mass follower, clamp with tac rail, extended bolt handle, oversized bolt release and a hat. He has it for sale here in the forum...

Damn ...I had already ordered everything from Nordic by 2am and paid them over the phone by 9am without coming back to this thread again! Oh well, someone else can use that certificate I'm sure. They were really nice on the phone and it sounded like I should get the stuff pretty soon - sounded like before mid March for sure.

Shooters, Tim Ubl will be at the SCAPSA match with shotgun loading equipment for sale. You can check out his items at http://www.taccom3g.com/ He is a local manufacturer for those who don;t know. Bring cash or checks. Buy it there and save yourself some money on shipping.
