Good day fellow members.
As we move toward the day of Starting Construction at the club I have few things to talk about.
1st Thank you Sam for posting the renderings, I think everyone will get a better idea of what will be built. ( saved me the trouble)
At this moment we are having shop drawings created for the precast and steel. This process can take 2 to 3 weeks. This coming week we will take elevation benchmarks at the 100 yard and short ranges. Once we have these in hand we can lay out the footings exactly where they will go. The city want to approve our shop drawings and will take a few days to review them. Once that step is completed, we will have the material set for manufacturing. 3 to 4 weeks.. I will keep the club apprised of those schedule items as we get them from the contractor.
I have heard many questions about range closings. NO Range will be affected by the construction until we have material for their construction on the ground at the club or warehoused locally. This will condense the time we close ranges for construction. As you might imagine SAFETY is top priority. Once construction has started the Trap, Comp, 50, 200meter, 25yrd ranges will be open.
After walking with site with our Security Director, here is what I can say right now.
There will be days when the Comp, 100 and 50, 200 meter will be closed all at once. Those days will be short-lived, primarily when we have cranes onsite and are lifting precast. We expect to go right over the trees on the 100 yard range and I want to make sure there are ZERO POSSIBILITIES OF GUN PRODUCED ISSUES. An issue during construction is as bad a blue sky flyer. Publicity the Club Does Not Need! Those days will have construction equipment, men and machinery all over the 100 and short range all parking lots and roads 2 to 3 days tops.
From there, once we have work at 12 ft and below we will look at having non adjacent ranges open, and do our best to publish closures as far ahead as possible. Please be patient with us if you happen to come out and find a range you wanted to use closed for a short time. It's inevitable that some one will get redirected.
Once we begin work on a range it will remain closed until we are complete with construction. This is the best way to proceed for both time and budget. I expect we will be able to open ranges at the end of the work day except of course the 100 and short range. We need to meet the contractor and subs to establish those limits. I'll publish those ASAP.
Each weekend, the Comp, 200, 50, 25 and trap will not be affected by construction.
Please feel free to to introduce yourself to me when I am onsite, I am looking forward to getting to know more members through this process.
Onward!
All the best
Petar
