Sporting clays @ Metro?

Postby jonahk on Thu Jul 25, 2013 9:15 am

Hey all,

My company as a bunch of over-seas folks in town this week, and I'd like to take them out to shoot some sporting clays tonight. I've shot H&H a bunch of times, but don't feel like driving down there in traffic. I see Metro Gun Club is nice and close. Anyone shot their sporting clays courses recently and can comment on how they compare to Horse and Hunt?

Thanks!

Unless things changed this summer Metro only does 5 stand. I have shot a bunch of Metro's 5 stand. They run some pretty nice fields, 5 is one of my favs. They only downside is they NEVER change them. But for a quick day trip that won't matter.

Two rounds(25ea) of 5 stand will cost the same as one round(50ea) of sporting at H&H. It is well worth the drive to H&H for a couple rounds of sporting, WAY more fun than 5 stand.

Yep, would be worth the drive....I shoot at H&H bi-weekly

If you go to Metro make them shoot the duck tower  I was just on Metro's site to verify that it is still just 5 stand and saw the duck tower. Man now that is a blast!

And yes Metro is still just 5 stand, you can't even compare to sporting at H&H.

Thanks guys, looks like we'll head down to H&H after all (assuming it's not raining)

H&H has a big tournament this weekend - you may want to call ahead. It was a mess there last night (3 of the 5 courses shut down).

Turns out we never wound up going. The Germans recently discovered Surly and I had to help them find various flavors on tap around downtown instead.

That being said, I had no idea FLSC had sporting clays. I thought we shot jungle run stage on that course? I'll have to come check it out next week. Thanks!
