What's going on here, no one shooting clay targets

I shot for the first time since I was a kid. I think that was about the time they came out with that new smokeless powder stuff. Anyway, shot a 16 and 17 at Oakdale. Nothing to brag about, but did it with my 20 ga and had a great time. I'd like to try some sporting clays before Grouse season.

What's going on here, no one shooting clay targets

Too early in the year for me. I have a mounted thrower setup and we will start sometimes in mid to late August and then we get togeter and shoot at least once a week. I don't start till August because there are fun handgun things going on. But in August we start talking about grouse and pheasant, then we start breaking clays.

You know the get togethers for shooting pistols have gone over well, maybe someone should put together a clay day and have some informal and fun forum competition.

That sounds good to me. The reports on the last steel shoot made we determined to get to the next one.

I've been going up to metro gun club once every couple weeks and shooting a round or two of 5 stand(sporting clays) and sometimes a round of skeet with a few friends. I enjoy it, shoot decent numbers but I don't have the cash to dump into it. I shot an 18 in sporting clays last time I went, thats my personal best.

I used to shoot clay up north. I did it at the couple shooting pits around town, but have never shot at a range other than when I was 13.
On the outside chance I could get time away, I'd love to break some clays!

I'd love to give this a try sometime. First I need to buy a shotgun.

You buy the shells and I will borrow you one to use, that is if I am going to be there.

Would Saturday work for you? I plan on going shooting somewhere somehow :)

Either use my thrower at Beaverbrook and do some pistol shooting on the side or go to Metro and shoot some trap/skeet/clays whatever they have.

edit: actually this offer is open to anybody 8-)

Unfortunately, I'm not available on Saturday. Hopefully we can do it sometime soon.

If you were game for mid afternoon (kids' nap time) I might be able to join! I've got a 12 and a 20, I can bring both if someone wants to use the other.

Actually I just remembered that Saturday is when I was going to try to take a permit class if somebody could fit me in. I think I am the only one on the board who doesn't have it yet :(
