Just wondering and to be clear. I would have to join Twin Cities IDPA for $30 and also join IDPA for $40. Then at matches I would have to pay match price +$7 for the first year. And the next thing I know I’m Rob Latham right.

I only have to go to the matches I want to? There isn’t a minimum amount I have to go to? I don’t see these matches on the TC IDPA site, am I missing it. Who here can “certify” I can safely draw from a holster and maybe give me a clue? How many rounds are we talking here? Sorry about all the questions, but I might need a hobby and this might be it.

Are you really Rob Latham and here I thought you were just a guy......
Twin Cities IDPA schedule is listed on the left hand menu, I also included the address for Minnetonka IDPA. Bob Jahn has a holster class scheduled for April 12, this class would bring you up to speed. Last Saturday was a intro held at Minnetonka, I don't know if any others are scheduled. You are not required to attend every match. I'm sure Bob or someone else will give you more info.

No club membership is required for the FR&PC matches. Membership in IDPA is required but you can shoot a couple matches before becoming a member.

Typical league match is less than 75 rounds. Another 50 if you need to reshoot a stage. The BUG match would add 15 rounds.

Go to the IDPA web site and read the part of the rule book concerning safety. This will give you an idea of how the matches work.

Come and watch a match. This is free! Highly recommended before coming to shoot. Action pistol shooting is not for everyone. If you violate the safety rules, you will be told to leave and not return.

The intoduction to action pistol course listed above is highly recommended but not required at FR&PC. (I wish we had enough people to run a similar course.)

I read the safety rules yesterday. I have not competed before but I was in the military and follow safety rules. I’m also familiar with fire commands, showing clear and the like. It has been years since I was in so I’ll email Bob Jahn and see what happens and watch a match. Thanks for the direction.
