Forest Lake Sportsmans Club Action Pistol Shooting

Postby westberg on Tue Apr 10, 2012 8:02 am

A week ago we set up a demo stage to show the Boards at FLSC what action pistol shooting is about. Thanks to the great help I received, the Boards members were impressed with the safety and professionalism of the volunteers that showed up.

Last night the Boards approved this type of event can be held at FLSC. They also authorized it to be self funding from the proceeds of the matches going to purchasing prop material and steel targets.

I will be looking at the calendar to figure out the first date and asking for help in borrowing props and hoping for good attendance.

No Sh!t, I know now. EVERY range is between 1-1.25 hours from my house. Other then Oakdale and Burnsville.

Congrats Ron on selling them on it, and thanks to the volunteers for helping make it happen.

Hey Ron, send Monte over to me if he shoots trap at the Club also.
I can meet him on a non league night if need be, just to fill him in.
It would be nice to get some Oakdale shooters on my leagues also.

The match is a go, Sunday May 20th. Setup at 8:00am, shooters mtg 9:30am and shooting at 10:00am. There will be 3 stages and about 90 rounds. FLSC website http://www.forestlakesportsmensclub.com/ Match fee is $20.00 youths 12 to 18 $10.00.

I want to thank everybody in advance who are planning on attending, I'm hoping there will be FLSC Board and Shareholders members also attending to shoot and or watch. This will be opening the door for monthly matches and more.

This has been a challenge starting with a blank slate, I'm sure mistakes will be made but thanks to all of the help I have received I hoping they won't be very noticeable. Mike and I built wall sections this weekend, have just a few more to make. We will have a Texas Star and other steel.

We will need RO's and timers.
