Anything against me and a friend or two showing up to see how 3 gun runs and to help get started in this?

Thanks.

Spectators are welcome. Make sure to bring eyes and ears protection with you. A lot of the rifles are running compensators that are quite loud, especially if I bring out my 308.

Make sure to follow the range rules and feel free to ask questions. And you are also certainly welcome to help with set-up and resetting the stages after each shooter.

If you have checked Jay's latest posting on our website, then you know about the damaged targets. I'm very disappointed and I know that you all are too. From here on, we are going to enforce the ban against green-tip and steel core ammo. The ban is actually in our match rules. It does not matter if you intend to just use it on paper targets, they are not allowed.

Folks, the Minnesota 3Gun Group is a volunteer support group without a budget or official financial means. The steel targets we use are expensive. Most are donated and some are personally owned by someone. These steel targets we bring out to the host ranges is what makes running a 3-gun match more enjoyable for you. They are basically your targets as they are ours. All we ask is that people don't use steel core or green tip ammo. If you are unsure about your ammo, simply check them with a magnet. If the bullet (not the casing) sticks to the magnet, don't bring it to our match.

I've bought more magnets and we will be checking everyone's ammo at each stage as each competitor gets up in the line to shoot. It'll be a slight but necessary inconvenience. Checking your ammo will only take a few seconds. We know that most of you will not be problem, but we have to watch out for the ones that brought the banned ammo to the last match. To keep it fair and just, everyone's ammo (including the staff's) will be checked. I'm sure most of you would not mind this little inconvenience since it is for the protection of the targets.

If your ammo sticks to the magnet, you will not be allowed to shoot the match unless you have or can get other ammo that don't stick. We will also be watching the hits on the steel targets. If we see a sparks or other indicators that you are using banned ammo, we will immediately stop you and check your ammo again. We'd rather be wrong and give a re-shoot, than to be right and have the targets get damaged. If we catch you using the banned ammo, you will be held responsible for the cost of replacing the target and you will be banned from shooting our matches again.

We know that all of you appreciate and support us, and we thank you for that. It is what keeps us motivated to keep brining you 3gun matches.

Reminder to everyone of our 3-gun match in Minnetonka Game & Fish Club this Sunday. Come early and help with set-up if you can. Shooter's meeting is at 9:30 and shooting starts at 10. Remember to not bring steel core or armor piercing ammo. We will be checking.

By popular demand, we are bringing back the duelling spinner target stage. But of course, I'm throwing in a little twist in there.

I've also designed a stage that will challenge your decision-making and memory skills while under pressure. All I can tell you now about that stage is that you'll get a taste of being in a SWAT hostage rescue unit.

It'll be another great match.

Villy, silly question but while you may know who did it does he know he did it?

Unless he sees your post he may not even know.

Sure you can shoot the hostage, you'll just have to endure a 5 second penalty and the ridicule and judgement from your squad mates. :D But at least that's better than having to be judge by a jury if you would have shot a hostage in real life.

We don't know who did it. And I know that they may have not known it either. There were so many new shooters and some of them may have not known the type of ammo they had. But if they did, thats some bad doo-doo. Thats why we are going to make mandatory ammo check for each shooter, including the staff, when they get up on the line to shoot. For those that may not know that they have steel-core ammo, hopefully they'll learn a little lesson about knowing their ammo as they are denied their turn to shoot. I don't anticipate much problems at all with this. My hopes are to catch those that has them before they cause damage to our targets.

Brian Payne will be bringing out some of his personal steel targets for us to use for the match. He's doing that as a favor to all of us, so we all owe it to him to make sure they are not damaged by steel core ammo.

Just wondering Chris,...are you thinking that Payne thing again? Why can't you just let that die off for Brian's sake.
