I move to Lakeville next week, and a check of the calendar shows that I should be able to make the majority of the matches.

Show up for the orientation. Or just come to a summer USPSA event near you and get that first match out of the way.

If you can't make orientation you can come to any of the winter matches and get a good introduction from Mike but you won't get to practice shoot an I scored stage, which is I think what happens at orientation.

Edit: orientation has changed this year. read farther down to see how it is gonna work. I don't want anyone to read this and do the wrong thing.

Sorry, but that's not true this year. Please be patient, and I'll post more here soon.

Will the Burnsville matches have Classifiers and the scores added to USPSA?

OK, time for an update.

Although we welcome new shooters, this year match walk-ins without any experience or training, will not be permitted to enter the match. New shooters with no experience or training MUST attend the orientation! The only exceptions will be those that I, personally, will approve (and save your money :shameonyou: ).

Also, we had a much larger turnout than we expected at last year's orientation. Too many people came for the rated capacity of the room.

Therefore, this year the orientation on September 19 will be by phone or personal sign-up only. Call Burnsville Pistol Range (952-890-6228) and ask to be added to the Winter League Orientation. Capacity is limited to the first 30 people that sign up. You MUST speak to a Real, Live Person. Leaving a message if no-one answers (they do have a limited staff!) will NOT be accepted. Cost is a $5 donation (to the range...not me  ).

Leave your name, and either a phone number or e-mail address (prefered). I'll notify you to verify that you've been enrolled in the class.

If we get many more than the 30-person limit, I'll ask BPR if we can have a second one.

FWIW, I'd go here ... https://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-join-renew.php ... pay yer $25 ... and shoot as many weeknight matches as are left ... most'll give ya the rundown yer first nite!

I don't know that Mike's gonna be lookin for USPSA cards w/o U's on em ... but, it probly wouldn't hurt to have one!

Would I be correct in assuming that attendance at a previous year's Orientation would qualify (I"ve also shot USPSA at Oakdale) ?

Yes. By "experience" I mean previous activity in IDPA, USPSA or the Winter League.

9 days until this starts and there hasn't been any trash talk from the usual suspects. I'm kind of disappointed in you guys. 8-)
