Ok I figured out where a 1911 fits in.

In .45, must be in CDP. In any other caliber, you can also use it in ESP.

What about a XD45?

All XDs are at least ESP because they're defined as a single action (striker is under pressure when chambered). You can also shoot it in CDP because it's a 45.

Have you shot that new M&P yet? How do you like it?

Just got back from the range first chance I have had since buying the M&P. I had did a trigger job #4 and shortened the reset dont like the long takeup will probably put a set screw in the trigger to get rid of the free travel. So far so good first 3 shots at 7yds about a one inch group slow fire. 17rds rapid fire produced appx 4" group.
