Summary From LAST YEAR:

When: Mon, March 28, 2016 7pm – 9pm

Description: F-Class is the fastest growing long range rifle sport
in the world. Even if you are not interested in competitive shooting,
it is a fantastic way to improve your long range marksmanship, and
reloading skills. It’s also a ton of fun!

We require that all new F-Class shooters attend the March 28 2016
Orientation meeting (7PM). There, we will outline the basics of
F-Class competition, safety, equipment requirements, and go over how
our league operates. This meeting will be held at the Elk River
Sportsman’s Club clubhouse in Elk River, MN.

Shooters who have shot in our league in the past, or those who hold
NRA mid or long range classifications need not attend orientation.

For more information contact league director Joel Danielson.

Question for those shooting F class. My son is a relatively new shooter - shot a few times last year with a 223 on a bipod. Over the winter he picked up a new savage in 6.5 Creedmore and is shopping for a front rest. He has a budget but not a blank check. Are the Bald Eagle rests a viable mid-range unit? The cast iron I assume is more stable than the aluminum. Any advise would be appreciated.

If you decide that you want a Bald Eagle rest, I have one of the cast iron (I'm pretty sure it's cast iron anyways) slingshot rests up in my garage attic that I'd make you a good deal on. It is virtually unused. I bought it a couple of years ago for the purpose of doing load development, but I have found that I am better off doing it from a sling. Send me a PM if interested.

The weight of the cast iron will make the rest more stable. You can also add lead shot to an aluminium version. I went with a Cowan rest which at the time was cheaper than the Bald Eagle. The Cowan is really well-built. I've seen others shoot very well with old Bald Eagle rests and many benchrest rests are based on the same design. It's not a Farley or SEB, but you can load a lot ammo for the price difference. You can always upgrade later. If you order one, be sure to check shipping costs.
