i was a student of the late darrel mulroy for years...shortly after the mppa was passed i obtained my permit in sherburne county by using my dd214 military discharge papers...at the time i thought it was odd but didnt argue the fact that they would accept it since i had attended darrels class for about 5 years every year sometimes going with friends i referred to him just to take the course again...shortly before my permit expired a month ago i went in to renew using my dd214's again and also brought in several of my certs from plus p tecnology and was totally treated like **** by sherburne county...i was told i need the class...thats fine i could use a refresher anyways

now the problem... im trying to find one similar to darrels, possibly with one of the other plus p technology instructors...any help would be appreciated...

thanks

Supposedly one of these guys is a former PlusP instructor... http://pistolcraft.org/srogers.php

Otherwise you can find plenty of instructors in this forum.

Well I could attack you too, but that would be against the rules and not very nice... 8-) If you stick around and read this forum you'll find there is a lot of good info available.

i guess my first post is coming off wrong or something...cuz im just wanting to find a course that will be similar to training ive already had so it becomes a refresher course with the addition of the new laws...not sure why trying to be informed before i choose is so bad...

Plenty of instructors around here. I'm sure some will chime in. You can also check out there sites where they have trining outlined. I hope you didn't find this critical.

Here's the issue:

1) There is some bad blood between a lot of current instructors a Mulroy for whatever reason. I don't know the details. I don't know the story. It is what it is and we aren't going to change it.

2) The "new" carry law is what, six or seven years old? People assume if you had a permit you would know how it works. Right or wrong, it's what they assume.

i am starting to see that...i was just telling one of my workers why my training with darrel was so important to me...and why so many of his student were proud to say they were his student...his training was so much more than teaching the law and handling your gun...im sure all of the instructors out there now do a fantastic job of teaching the law and gun handling...i feel darrel took it to the next level...was just looking for something similar

 but i was being attacked like i was some arrogant jerkoff trying to beat the system...which is not what i was trying to do...actually i was treated very similar one other time, by the los angeles county sheriff when i called ahead of time to find out what i could do about a scary scenario that took place for me...i was closing down my shop in cali and had several artists working for me at the time, unfortunately my partner was robbing blind and if i told anyone i was coming the shop would have been empty when i showed up...i called them and they didnt even care about what my questions were...all i was told repeatedly was "this is not minnesota and we dont deal with"what if" situations in LA"all i was asking was if i could get an emergency permit or have the police there when i do i show up...in the end my concerns were warranted...i had a knife pulled on me and had to face him with nothing...luckily he backed down when i told him he was just going to piss me off with his little pig sticker and he wasnt even going to hit a vital...when i felt comfortable turning my back to him i walked out of the shop and called 911...even then the police were pricks

Turning your back on a guy threatening you with a knife. Well if that is the training you got, I can see why you'd run right out and get some more of that.

It might be helpful to know a little more specifically what you found good/different/above the norm about his course. Many of us know the name but not any more about him and his class.

Standing offer........take my class and if you feel it's not worth it you don't pay.......but also no certificate ;)
