Looking for hunter safety instructor

Postby Keith81 on Fri Sep 09, 2011 5:05 pm

I am planning on taking the online course for hunter safety. The scheduled field exams are booked up for a while. Just wondering if there is anyone on here that does these courses and the field days? Thanks

You mean in the Baudette/Roseau area or closer to LaCrescent/Houston Minnesota? :?

Oh I thought my location was listed. I am in Roseville, so anywhere in the metro area works.

Good luck

Things not in your favor
1. It's not a standard range day ......full day and different format
2. Very few offered and they fill instantly
3. Fall is the highest demand time

Keep watching the DNR web site and jump on one right away if it shows up

Ok thanks, I am not too worried if I don't get it done this fall since I was able to get a one year apprenticeship license. It would just be nice not too have to be with someone when I am out. I have purchased licenses in the past but never asked for a hunters safety number. I took the class nearly twenty years ago in Hudson but can't find any record of it. I am still gonna try and call the DNR in WI but I'm probably gonna be SOL.

It wasn't, but now it is.

That should help if anything is available.

Although I have not had the oppertunity to teach a class yet due to the lack of an all day event at my favorit gun club, I am a certified DNR firarms(hunter safety) safety instructor and certified NRA trainer as well.

If I can help in any way let me know, I think I can give you a one on one at Beaver Brook gun club if you pass the online coarse.

I will check with CO officer Bruce to see if that is still allowed.

I would be really surprised if they didn't have it.

You can go to the web site above and pay for and print out a duplicate copy of your hunters safety certificate. I believe that most of the instructors you had at Hudson 25 years ago are still there. Thousands of folks will be going through this process for permit to carry proof of (editorial...somewhat related but woefully inadequate) training.
