Okay, I have the details now.

Date: Tuesday May 22nd

Time: 6:30PM

Place: Hamburg Fire Hall
181 Broadway Ave
Hamburg, MN. 55339

Best route is Hwy 212 West to Hwy 5/25 South to Carver County Rd 50 East. The station is the 1st building on the left. Please park on the west (left) side and not in front as they use that for fire dept personnel. Transit time from 494 about 25-30 minutes.

Cost: $25

Please sign up here. Last time we put this together it was a great success, and included some basic First Aid principles. Just ask plblark how successful it was :)

The instructor is a paramedic with some 30 years experience in the field and in teaching.

Please note that these principles are not a substitute for ambulance and higher-level medical care. They are intended to be interim measures only....what to do while waiting for professional responders.

Good question. Here's a quote from the original thread:

chinakay wrote:I've been offered the following possibilities for the class...please let me know what you think. The class will be in Hamburg, south of Norwood/Young America. With the new 212 highway it's easy to get to. Probable start time will be 7PM.

That's what I 'm using for planning purposes. Would still be good to confirm, though. ;)

The class was DEFINITELY worth the $25 just from the presentations on differing types of GSW and the issues surrounding them. The instructor had a lot of ancillary information he was able to weave in and the closing discussion on supplies and uses was good too.

While I didn't have a gunshot wound in my class, I did have a guy go into a seizure. I think the class helped in that it dealt with the GSW subject manner while reinforcing the basics. A, B, C, secure the scene, send for help, etc.
