This is a RARE chance to train and learn. I may not teach much for a while. Fox Defensive Training is mostly on hold till further notice.

Fellow Permit-To-Carry Instructors - Please consider attending, you may want to share something from this with your PTC students.
I encourage everyone who carries a firearm to get at least some basic unarmed training.

You DO NOT need to be a black belt to defend yourself, but being a great pistolero doesn't mean you are prepared or always able to defend yourself with a gun!

Consider the recent attack in Minneapolis where a man with a permit was surprise attacked and had a thug pat him down and take his own concealed pistol off him!

I will use Tony Blauer High Gear http://www.tonyblauer.com/4105/03_01_highgear.asp

This allows for more realistic training, allowing you to make some contact.

A quick note of thanks to Brent Fox for his “Unarmed Skills for the Armed Citizen” class Saturday. The weather was perfect, the setting was realistic and the instruction was excellent.

We learned several individual “close quarters” moves that can be used in series to fend off an attacker when drawing a gun is neither possible nor practical. We had a chance to (carefully) practice with each other, and finally more realistically on Brent (in his “Michelin Man Suit).

Content was not so much as to be overwhelming but enough to have alternatives if one thing doesn’t work. Also included was basic weapons disarming.

This instruction was such that anyone could benefit from it. If it’s offered again, I’d recommend attending.

Thanks Brent !
