Permit to Carry - Saturday, 10/26 in Richfield

Postby Series 70 on Sun Sep 29, 2013 11:41 am

I have a Permit to Carry class scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at the Minneapolis-Richfield American Legion Post 435. Shooting qualification will be at Burnsville Rifle & Pistol Range. This class covers more than just the minimum required by law. We'll discuss how to spot and avoid problem situations, the mindset you need to prevail, and what you can expect from the legal system afterwards.

Class starts at 9am with a lunch break in the Legion's restaurant. Please note that the Legion does not allow outside food or drink, but coffee, soda and water will be available in the classroom.

Cost is $120 and includes range fees. Bring your own ammo and gun chambered in .380 ACP or larger. If you have a physical limitation necessitating the use of a smaller caliber, that's fine. Use of instructor's gun and ammo adds $10.

Advance registration is required. Please sign up at http://www.pedersontraining.com/schedule.html

Hey I had a question for you. My permit to purchase has expired and I was wondering if I can do my permit to carry course and everything still? Do I still need that permit to purchase if I already have the gun I would test with? Once I get the permit to carry I am covered for five years to purchase from what I understand right? Sorry for all the questions. If I can take this and get my permit to carry without still having my permit to purchase which expired about a month ago, I will double check my schedule and sign up!

Yes, you can still get into my class on the 26th. You only need a permit to purchase to purchase, not to shoot. And yes, once you get your carry permit it suffices in lieu of a permit to purchase for five years.
