[Feb 13 Minneapolis] Gunshot and Knife Wound Trauma Class

I am the one coordinating this for Rob Schoening -- here's the course write-up for his trauma management class being held on Saturday, February 13.

Course cost: $100 prepaid via PayPal to rob@lhgk.us

Bullets, Blades and Bandages from LHGK is a BASIC level trauma management course designed to fill the gap in medical treatment from the time an incident happens until higher care arrives. Focusing on those having minimal equipment and resources at hand, BBB is an excellent course for anyone who has the desire to help others in times of need and a must have for firearms owners, concealed carry permit holders, hunters, law enforcement officers and military members.

There will be two times slots available for the Minneapolis Bullets, Blades and Bandages course on 2/13/2016 with the first being a morning session and the second an afternoon session. The morning session will run from 8am until 12pm, with the afternoon session running from 2pm until 6pm. You must specify which time slot you are registering for when you make your payment.

Take note, you DO NOT need to buy a first aid kit for this course. First aid kits are a topic that will be discussed thoroughly in Bullets, Blades and Bandages and you will leave this course with a solid understanding of what type of medical equipment is appropriate for your skill level. That said, if you already have one, bring it.

LHGK is a firearms related business founded by Rob Schoening offering defensive based firearms and basic trauma management courses. Rob is a career Firefighter - Paramedic / Tactical Medic in the Midwest and a longtime military medic with 20+ years of service.

Course will cover:
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • Medical Terminology
  • Rapid Patient Assessments
  • Treatment of Self and Others
  • Patient Movement and Transportation Considerations
  • Treatment Theories
  • Medical Equipment Selection, Set up, Usage
  • First Aid Kits - Building and Buying kits

Required Equipment List:
  • Note taking material
  • An open mind
  • No gear or prior training necessary

Course cost: $100 prepaid via PayPal to rob@lhgk.us

Is this course done often? I'm out of town, but would be interested in the future.

It is not, unfortunately. We're hosting Rob from Iowa and this is his first time teaching this course here.

In the same boat, figured maybe I could take it in Iowa but their schedule is pretty barren.
