Guys, I'm teaching this class (with ChuckW) for Minnetonka Community Ed. Filling it would make a very positive statement toward expanding firearm safety and sport training in that district. If you know of anyone at all (spouses, friends, relatives) who would benefit from this class, please pass the word.NRA Basic Pistol - Tu/Th 10/23-11/1 (4 sessions) - MinnetonkaA pistol or handgun is a firearm designed to be fired while being held in one hand. While such firearms are small & compact, they can be the hardest to learn. Students will receive the NRA's "The Basics of Pistol Shooting" handbook and intensive lessons in safety, gun handling, the various types of pistols, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, various pistol firing positions, several practical exercises on the firing range, cleaning, storage, & a summary of pistol sports & activities.
There are no pre-requisites for taking this course & the material is accessible to mature young adults. Course completion: Students will receive feedback on the live-fire exercise & a course certificate upon successful completion of the lessons. Students will receive a "Basic Practical" rocker upon successful demonstration of firing a qualifying "group". There is a short written test on the lesson material at the end of the course.
