Rochester area carry classes?

Instructors can post their training and permit class info

Rochester area carry classes?

Postby EllisW on Sat Jan 15, 2011 7:46 pm

Pardon me if this is the wrong place to post, as the thread subtitle said it was for instructors to list their classes, but it also looked to be the only forum regarding training.

The local SMSClub.org does classes for this, but their next one is in March, they only take 4? people per class and there's a waiting list. Not that I have any pressing need to carry in Rochester, and likely won't, but I'd like to get it done sooner rather than later. Exercise my rights and such.

I know there are many classes up in the Cities, but I'm not morning person and that long commute at 6am (to make it for an 8am class) would probably be unsafe for my fuzzy morning brain. Also, gas prices.

To get to the point, does anyone know of a training class in the Rochester area that will be taking place some time in the near future? It does not necessarily have to be a class specifically training for carry tactics and such, anything that will qualify me to apply for the permit will do, as I will seek further training down the road.

Thanks in advance

Thank you, but while it's helpful, to a point, having to google each of the names to figure out what city they're in is a bit of a hassle. Sometimes phone number area codes aren't exactly accurate, either.

Does anyone with personal experience in the Rochester area have any recommendations or referrals, or knowledge of upcoming classes? :)

Call Coyote Creek and ask them. I'm sure they know of an instructor that offers classes. Probably have a bulliten board with a business card or flyer too.

I got some good suggestions, thanks all. January 22nd, 3 blocks away from my house, I couldn't ask for better!

Hello I am Derek and I was reading some of these posts and I know they are a bit old. However, I would have to believe that there is still a shortage of classes in the Rochester Area. I am more then willing to schedule a class in the area if I can fill it up with no less then 10 people. My schedule is limited to sundays. If there is anyone who is interested please contact me.

I'm based in Hastings, MN and would be happy to offer you training.

You can visit my website for more info on pricing, etc.
I would also be willing to train in your home or choice of venue, provided you can produce at least 5 students.
Call me if you're interested.
