John Farnam - Adv Techniques/Force on Force Classes

John is an internationally renowned trainer, author and 40 year LEO who travels the world teaching and lecturing on weapons and tactics. A combat test US Marine John teaches his students how to
recognize and avoid confrontation and respond swiftly and effectively when deploying weapons is required.

John will be at Monticello Sportmen’s club on July 21st and 22nd this year teaching More Advanced Handgun Techniques and his Scenario Based (Force on Force using Airsoft) Defensive Handgun. This is our 5th year of hosting John and we promise he is a internationally recognized expert on small arms and an outstanding instructor

This is advanced training in every respect and we will be limiting this to folks who have recent formal training with Farnam, Ayoob, Gunsite, Thunder Ranch, etc. The alternative is to have one of the local trainers that I know and respect, who have also been Farnam graduates, confirm to me as Farnam's class coordinator that you have the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to benefit from this class and add to the class. I therefore will accept recommendations only from Don Larson, Joe Houser, Erik Parkieser and Rolf Penzel, all Farnam alumns and skilled instructors that I trust. All of these but Joe teach advanced classes and you could coordinate with them or me on taking a class ( if you haven't already taken one)that would allow them to certify you for a class or classes with Farnam.

We had another great addition to the class. Benny and China have just signed up both days of Farnam's class, so we are down to just two seats on both days.

Cobb, aka Rick of River Valley training just signed up for what will be his 4th class with John Farnam, after he saw Benny and China where attending.. Several other class members are on their third, fourth or in Gman's (Rolf's)case their 5th class with Farnam. There is a reason we come back to John Farnam for training. If you have the necessary experience, grab the last seat before it's gone.

John Farnam had a personal situation come up and had to change the dates on this class. The new dates are now Sat July 7 and Sunday the 8th. The Monticello range was in use and we moved it to the beautiful Forest Lake Sportsmen's with the help of their excellent range manager, mnguntalk's own Ron Westberg. We thank Ron and while we lost a few folks due to other plans and commitments, we have a range, a fine host hotel and plenty of folks to have the class.

I am really pleased that you found the class to be valuable. This was the 5th year we hosted a class for John Farnam and my 6 class with John. Based on criteria established by John Farnam I am now pleased to report that I am now affiliated instructor with John Farnam's training company Defense Training International. To me the quality of the training really shows since we had several highly experienced students who were also attending their 4th , 5th or even 6th class with Farnam. Several of these folks are forum members, so I'll let them comment on the class if they wish.

I did want top publicly thank the board's own Ron Westberg, manager of the beautiful Forest Lake Sportsmen's Club, who got us in when we had to quickly change the date to respond to an issue with Farnam's schedule.
