IALEFI

If any NRA instructors want to come to the next Minnesota IALEFI RTC regional training conference in Jordan at the scale facility, I am again hosting it. It will be up on the IALEFI site soon as we just got it hammered out. The tentative date is September 15-17 2014. There will be rifle, shotgun and pistol. You will have to become an associate member of IALEFI international association of law enforcement firearms instructors as well as pay for the course. You will be training with law enforcement right along side you. I have hosted them before and I always learn a lot my self. It is just another venue for training and in this one in the way LE trains. May be a use to you or not. I will bring several full auto guns, at the end we shoot up left over ammo and even smoked one of my barrels on a M16. It will be just one more thing you can hang on your wall to promote you as a instructor if that is of any matter to you. It is limited to 40 and first come basis. Go to the site http://www.IALEFI.com to check it out if you are interested. IALEFI instructors work for free, those who host them get nothing also and the last one cost me out of pocket about $500 and many hours on the phone so we do this for the love of training and learning.

I am now moving forward with the course. The date is solid now and up at IALEFI, if you are interested in coming to the training, go to http://www.IALEFI.com September 15-17 you will learn a lot there. Rifle, shotgun and handgun. The last one I hosted was great. I brought a few machine guns for us to get rid of left over ammo the last day. This is a nice feather in your hat for instructor credentials. If you have never been to the scale facility it is top shelf, fantastic ranges. 612-327-3490 joepenaz@planecents.net

The IALEFI course this year is going to be something different this year. It is going to be a 3 day patrol rifle course. This should be real interesting. 3 different instructors over a 3 day course September 15-19 lodging at the scale facility is available and I believe for the $25 a day as before but check with IALEFI. I am excited about this. This will be some heavy rifle training.

I am interested, but because of the changes in my day job I can't commit. But if the class fills and there is an opening that develops a couple weeks before, I would appreciate the option to fill that cancelation.

I have 2 out of three names so far. I will have to ask IALEFI if I can release the names. As far as it filling it most likely will not as I just started this in 2012 in Minnesota and we have ah 27 max so far at the classes not bad but we could work with 40 as we have three ranges. It was my idea to open it up to instructors not necessarily LE. I do not want to have Joe blow there who knows nothing about safe range rules ect and have the cops complain. This should really keep it professional. We do need to get 20 just to do the class, so if you know qualified people who would like to come please tell them. I get nothing for doing this and the last one I had close to 200 hours in and out of pocket was close to $600 that I considered a donation to IALEFI. I am obviously not instructing but I run the program and keep things going smooth riding from range to range in my little golf cart. I am going to bring some M16 full autos as I did last time to burn up left over ammo and will see if the instructor feel they may want to talk and demonstrate as happened the last time. All the info will be up on the website shortly and I hope this will be something that keeps going for ever. Not a lot of chances to train side by side with police in class intended for police. This is a cool feather in your hat.

I was mislead by the person I was working with originally at IALEFI, attendees must be bona fide law enforcement, security or military firearms instructors. Some of the material presented is law enforcement sensitive and is not appropriate for public consumption. Individuals who are bona fide LE, security or military instructors may attend, I am sorry for the confusion.

Get ahold of IALEFI, they left it at IALEFI will make the call when people call. So I would get it cleared up asap with them so you are no dealing with it just before. I am sorry about this one guy said it was OK then another said it was not. I got thrown under the bus.

I'm still interested, possibly send my staff as well. All of us are LE instructors. I want to know more about the classes, instructors etc before committing. We are always interested in attending continuing education bud sadly we have also been disappointed with some classes we have attended so we want to make sure it is a quality course.

I am possibly interested as well and like Dave I've heard a couple negative things so want to make sure it will be worth the $ as well, but A) I'm a cheesehead, so I'd want to know if the program will be geared towards MN instructors and law, or if it's general, and B) I won't be able to know if I can sign up for a few months yet.

If you would like to give me a call. 612-327-3490. 3 days three different instructors, tons of shooting. I have the option always to join in and train if time permits, usually I do for a while until I am needed else where. This year I hope I can shoot at least part of each class. This is something different usually we do 3 guns. I was asked what I wanted or thought would be a focus on this year and I said patrol rife and was caught off guard when they came back with this. I was not sure until comments started coming in all positive. Many times you leave a course saying I want more I do not think this will be the case this time. We sure would like to have as many qualified people coming to this years seminar.
