This combat rifle class is taught by Jake who was a combat infantry Sgt in the USMC. He did 2 tours in Iraq 206 and 2008, saw combat and was decorated for his service. He has "seen the elephant" and can talk about it first hand. Course cost is $175 and lunch is not included.
After he finished college 5 years ago, Jake joined a metro police force. He is a student of the gun and loves teaching folks about them. His department must think he is good at it, he is on their SWAT team and they made him a trainer and sent him to several weeks of schooling to be a better trainer.
Jake has devoted substantial personal time and money to advancing his firearms and fighting skills. He has trained with EAG, Gunsite, Robert Vogel twice, SouthNarc and former Seal Kyle DeFoor and others. He is also a martial artist and was a senior instructor in Krav Maga in the Corps.
Jake has now co taught one class for me and two pistol classes by himself and received great reviews. This will be focused and intense experience and you will transition to handguns multiple times.
Note that this class cost is $175 and requires prior and recent combat rifle training and practice. Good candidates include folks with military or police backgrounds in rifles who have maintained their skills. Also competition shooters and others with prior training and recent ( last few years) semi auto combat rifle experience. Caliber is not an issue if you can carry and move with the gun.
Round count is important to many people and Jake has a unique way of dealing with various expectations. This class and his pistol classes have a lot of built-in flexibility for each shooter to tailor the round count to his or her needs. For most drills, each individual has the option of shooting more or fewer rounds depending on his or her desire to get more trigger time vs. conserving ammo.
This is the first run of this particular lesson plan, so it's difficult to predict an exact round count range, but I would guess that a shooter loading very conservatively will use 200 rounds and a very aggressive shooting could use 600+. You as the shooter have a wide range and can chose what fits your needs. Jake also allows for physical differences due to age or conditioning, so so folks will sprint 50 yards, drop to prone and do 10 pushups, others will fast walk the COF and pass on the pushups and just go prone and shoot. Your call, same as the round count.
