Tactical Shotgun Course

Course content:
Range safety and range rules
Shooting fundamentals
Recoil control
Speed loading and unloading techniques (practice with dummy rounds and use of cover) (dummy rounds provided)
Patterning shotguns
Shooting positions
Shooting with movement
Tactical reloads
Loading and shooting slugs
Malfunction drill
Shooting doubles (trap range)
Equipment list:
12 ga. shotgun (pump or semi auto) Prefer at least a 6 round magazine
200 rounds of trap loads (7-9 shot)
30 slug rounds (if you have a rifled barrel you nee to buy "sabot" slugs--if you have a smooth barrel you need "rifled slugs)
If possible, buy different color shells (slugs & and trap loads)
A trap bag or mag pouches that you can grab one round at a time.
Sun screen, eye protection, ear protection (rubber plugs work best)
Rain gear (we shoot rain or shine)
Baseball type cap
This course is conducted by Steve Quill. Steve retired from Wright County Sheriff's office after 30 years of service. For 20+ of these years he trained 100's of deputies in all weapons and also trained numerous SWAT teams.
He is also a Chief Range Safety Officer, and was also a Trainer for the Monticello Sportsmens Club where he has trained 100s of people for their carry permit.
