Defensive Handgun Tactics 1 March 6th

Postby Don L on Mon Feb 02, 2009 8:34 am

I've got a Defensive Handgun Tactics 1 class scheduled for Friday March 6th from 1:30 to 8:00 at Burnsville Pistol Range. (Yes, indoors!) The class includes working with a holster, marksmanship, reloads, malfunctions, shooting while moving, working with partners, and more! The cost is $150.00, which includes range fees and a light dinner. For more details, or to sign up for the class, I can be contacted at 952.836.1843.
Thanks,
Don

I HIGHLY recommend this class! I attended this class last week at BPR and Learned more than I anticipated. My confidence level in pistol handling increased a huge amount.
Thanks Don, Awesome class! :D

I had an excellent time when I took this class too. I might have to take it again some time.

How many rounds will one shoot during the class? I assume you supply your own ammo. I might have a couple people interested. I will let you know Don.

I took a similar class from DonL when he first offered it and learned a ton. I took THIS class last Friday and learned a ton more and refreshed skills I REALLY should have kept up on. It was a fun, safe class held inside on a cold day where I got to shoot a lot of rounds and practice a bunch of stuff you generally don't get to on an indoor range. I'd highly recommend it. I'm considering the March 6th class, finances, scheduling, and space allowing.

We brought our own ammo. The round count was variable depending on number of participants. There were 6 targets and 3 instructors. We had two groups of shooters, 4 in one and 5 in the other, and were encouraged to fill in the open spots. I took advantage of every opportunity to shoot I could and had about 400 rounds down range. I could have shot the course of fire with ~250-300 shooting only in my group.

I brought my 1911 and a borrowed XD and 500 rounds for each just in case. Hate to stand around watching because I ran out of ammo.

Hopefully a M&P 9. Cheaper ammo, higher capacity.

Good... I got sick of having to cover your target for you... :gun:

J/K it was a blast, and it was fun watching you speed load on just about every drill... :)

practice makes perfect I guess. If only my practice was better. Poor Junior ... I managed to do a reload while holding the "baby" but I wonder how hard I held it? Next time: Tactical baby sling with built in mag holders.

I like it! I don't see a need for that myself. But who knows, maybe Mary would be interested in the future?

Level 3's almost ready. It's going to be both an eye opener as well as a skill builder.
