Defensive Handgun Tactics 2, So. Metro 9/15, A Sucess!

Postby Don L on Sun Sep 16, 2007 7:08 am

Thanks to everyone who came out for DH-2 yesterday! A lot of new information, and skills, were presented to the participants, and everyone was great (even with some sore knees and backs!). Mary and I both agree that there was some "mighty good shootin" demonstrated by all. (And will "Let's Do Lunch" ever be the same?) Anyone have a round count? One thing I would like to ask: When we were all packing up, I could have put one of our Tac-7 hearing protection sets on, or in, someone else's range bag. If you find 'em, I'd appreciate either a PM or a call, and I'll pick them up.

Thanks again, everyone!

+1 on the class yesterday. Don and Mary do a great job of instructing. It was good to see everyone from the board that was present and the ribbing and laughter was continuous all afternoon. I used a little over 300 rounds yesterday and I still can't figure out how to make that darn Glock fail, any idea's JAC714? :P

I for one had a fantastic time. Don and Mary really do know their stuff and present it in such a fun, clear and easy going style that even I can catch on. Learned a whole lot and have a lot of practicing to do. Thanks Don. Thanks Mary.

I hate to say it, but man I can't wait for Defensive Handgun Tactics 3 .

My round count was over 400. I think I went a little crazy on the prone shoot and unloaded a few mags.

For those of you that have been thinking about getting some additional training I recommend signing up for one of Don's courses. You will not be disappointed.

Keep shooting it? I imagine you can get it to fail by shooting wiithout cleaning, eventually any machine will stop.

Got home and changed the recoil spring and seem to have cured my problems.

Oh well, a good day of shooting is always a great day.

Thanks Don and Mary it was a lot of fun.

Great class yesterday! Lots of good laughs and fun! My round count was 440 or so. I got a liitle crazy on a couple of drills. Still trying to get the point shoot down instead of eyeing. No problems with my G23. (Didn't somebody else at DHT1 have problems with their 1911 also??) :o
After doing these two classes, and doing a lot of work drawing from the OWB holster, I don't think I'll go back to IWB? The draw time is substantialy slower w/IWB, and really it is quite a bit more uncomfortable to wear. I think I may opt for a snubby and a pocket holster, for the real discrete carry?.or just have to get some larger shirts.
I think one key thing Don touched on was the verbal commands aspect of things..really, really need to work on that. Good to see some of the forum guys also.
Untill DHT3, good luck everbody!

Yes, great class yesterday! Don and Mary do a great job. Don's classes attract (mostly ;) ) good people and good shooters.
