Oh yeah..... that.

Well, the lesson has been learned from that little debachle, and learned in spades......... I will never again have a travelling sight to blame for my missing targets by 10" or so to the left. (stupid me not tightening the set screw in the rear sight of the Kimber after replacing the pin-block safety..... the little bugger shifted to the left by almost a half inch the last steel shoot I attended.)

This one will be up and ready to go, I'm not going to be blaming the tool again. EVER.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.

What do you need the sights for, hammAR doesn't use them, he has them removed. If your using sights at those distances your shooting too slow. :P

If a guy were to shoot a revolver in the steel shoot, how many speed loaders would a guy need to compete?

None -- unless you ever miss. :) The regular stages are all strings of 5 targets, so that allows you one miss per string without having to reload 'on the clock'. Then you reload 'off the clock' for the next string, so a speedloader's not strictly necessary (though if you have a spare loaded one it does help move things along and minimize the waiting for other shooters). So you can get by with one if you absolutely have to, two or three is better, I bring six.

If you never miss, the only mandatory 'on the clock' reload is during the Man v. Man stage, and you'll only need one at a time for that.

Allow me to correct myself: You probably won't need more than one reload in the Man v. Man, because you only need to knock down one popper. But if you were to get jinxed and empty a cylinder -- or a magazine -- in the attempt, well, you wouldn't be the first person to have that happen to them! And if you only have one speedloader, you also wouldn't be the first person ever trying to speed-load loose rounds out of their pocket. Trust me, I know.

Looking forward to these again this year. I'll be at most of them, excepting July for sure. Something about there being a wedding around that time and a honeymoon. Apparently it is in my best interest not to miss those... :)

Talk to Pastor Paul about doing the ceremony during lunch break, I could bring our travel trailer so you spend the night there.

:D

Note the part about the bride with a kimber? Why do I get a rising urge to scream in terror when I envision the moment right after I tell her "Babe, Hawaii is out, but look on the bright side, we can have the ceremoney in between loading magazines, and Ron said we can honeymoon in his trailer!"

There isn't enough Kevlar in the world to save me from that.

But if you get a membership, you can stay there all week and shoot from Dawn to Dusk, that's got to be worth something!

Hmm, this logic is sound, much as I'd like to argue. Wonder how much ammo a guy could load/buy for the cost of a Hawaii Honeymoon... :hmm:

Wait! Hold on a minute. You sneaky guys are trying to trick me into something here. I smell a conspiracy!

don't get me wrong, it is tempting  But given the consequences, its about as tempting as licking a sidewalk in Tijuana.

I could send pictures of the camper if that would help to persuade her.

I think 200 000+ rounds easily. Every umbrella-topped drink you'll have is probably the equivalent of 100 rounds of 45 ACP. Of course, if you like fat guys in grass skirts playing little guitars... I think I can persuade Strad to join me in a little performance for you and your lovely bride on the steelshoot in July.

On the plus side, they do know their pork over there in Hawaii.
