2nd Saturday North Breakfast--OCB!!

Hey, don't forget the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast on Feb. 13! And remember that we are meeting across the street from our usual place, at the Old Country Buffet in Maplewood. To get there, turn east on Lydia Avenue off of White Bear Ave. and then the first south driveway is the strip mall where the Old Country Buffet is located. Pay at the door and come straight through the room in the same direction you were facing at the cash register to the banquet room on the far east of the restaurant. I will be there about 8:30 AM to try to ensure that everything goes smoothly, but we typically start at 9:00 AM or so. It is buffet style dining. See you there! Any questions, feel free to PM me. there is a slight possibility i could attend, however, my beloved and i are taking a 3 pm flight out of this purgatory of a state to a place where the temp. is currently 84 with sunny skies. depends on whether or not i have all (and i mean my wife's as well) stuff ready to go and able to leave for hhh by 2 pm. if i show to eat, it will be a fast brkfst.

What happened to Denny's? I thought we were locked in to their schedule? Don't tell me one or more of their, more normal, customers complained about our behaviour last time.

the switch in weeks meant a switch of rooms. The manager had a slight attitude and someone mentioned OCB is cheaper, more variety, and right across the street.

if your question is "Why did we not end up in the back room the last time we met there (on the unusual 3rd Saturday)?", the answer is, I don't know. I had called several weeks before, reserved the back room for the third Saturday, had been assured it was open, and we were written down for that date. When we showed up...it turned out all that was not the case and another group "always had the back room on the 3rd Saturday" according to the manager. He then proceeded to antagonize the guys and gals who came with us for about the third straight meeting there. No complaints so far as I know, just an obnoxious attitude on the manager. So it was suggested that we give OCB a try and we will for this month. We will take an informal poll from those who attend after to see what everyone wants to do in the future--stay at OCB or go back to Dennys. So unclench those butt muscles and show up just 100 yards south of the usual place and have breakfast with us--you are not too old yet to make a change .
