Announcing...Old Country Buffet!

Postby cmj685 on Mon Mar 01, 2010 9:37 am

Hey, guys and gals. The voting for the location of the 2nd Saturday North Breakfast was overwhelmingly in favor of Old Country Buffet over Dennys (you can see the results of the vote here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=12776). Second place winner was my house...but my wife vetoed that! So this morning I have spoken with Lisa, a manager there, and booked us at Old Country Buffet in Maplewood for the 2nd Saturdays. She says we will have the same nice banquet room as we had last month, (as you are standing at the cash register you are looking at the room) and as one of our regulars said, if you want to move the tables around to suit you, feel free! The price was pay at the door, and something like $6.42 with tax (someone help my old memory if I am off quite a ways) and there was obviously more variety and more food than you could ever eat, including a place where a chef would make you a custom omelette. The place is basically right across the street (Woodlyn) from Dennys. See you at 9:00 on the 2nd Saturday, which this month is March 13!

The cinnamon rolls with ice cream were hard to beat.

Believe me, you wouldn't forget. He's only forgetable when he wants to be. Actually, I think monschman has been to one or two of these at Denny's. Maybe?

Yep, he sat beside me at a couple. Maybe thats why you couldn't see him, if I was between you two. My head is big enough to blot out the sun at certain times of the day.

the general consensus has been, let's just get together and do breakfast, not activism., Thus, concealed is preferred.

Thanks Paul. Yes, we normally make the calendar announcement say "Concealed carry is preferred." We aren't interested in causing a ruckus at the restaurant or having some patrons calling 911 or customers making a scene with management. We are there to socialize and eat. So concealed carry is preferred. Thanks!
