I have only made it to I think 3 over the past couple of years.

All have been fun, hope to make it to a couple this year.
Thanks Benny for trudging on and keeping us entertained with the steel shoots.

Yeah, that was beginner's luck. We'll try to make it less fun for you this year. :)

Here's a map, though a guy named Rand McNally probably doesn't need one. :) Welcome aboard.

Welcome
You will need a drop leg holster and some tactical kneepads. Bring lunch in a Blackhawk lunchbox. Ear, eye and Glockenspiel protection will be necessary. Don't bring Ego, you will be beat by a girl. There is no crying in steelshooting.

Belgiboy gets high a lot, don't listen to him. And I thought under the new rules we weren't supposed to talk about kneepads.

OK, that part is correct.

Here's a thread from last year that goes on endlessly about the steel shoots (just remember it refers to the 2009 dates). But if you don't feel like reading 12 pages of our witty banter, feel free to ask questions, there's always somebody here in need of the ego boost of knowing the answer.

But there is crying later that evening when mindlessly going through the motions of cleaning your gun and muttering four letter euphemisms through choking sobs. This is almost always followed by the "I'll get them next time, just you wait and see" soliloquy.

Err..... Um....... Wait....... I mean there is no crying in steel shooting. :?

The rest of us sit around afterwards and ask each other.

There's always this year cobb. Last time we met you beat me by 7 seconds. I've been shooting for 3 years, you for 120 years. I'll catch up sooner or later. ;) :P

Catching me is no great feat. ;)
Everyone can beat me any day, quite a few everyday, this has been proven many times, you just have to go for it.

And this has been said many times before.

Strong words from somebody whose profile pic suggests doublefisting bongs in the immediate past.

Is the XD Gear holster good enough to get started with? I'd really like to make it to one or more of these.
