I hope the picnic went well. I was really going to try to make it up there. I worked a 12 hour shift today, then got home and had to prepare 12lbs of country-style pork ribs for a smokin' at work tomorrow.

Thanks much for the invite.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

The company was great
The kids are not permanently scarred
The food was awesome
The neighbors didn't call about the fireworks
I call this a success

Thanks to everyone who came. It was a great time.

We'll be doing one of these later in the fall. Hopefully with more notice and not on a holiday weekend.

SteveB: the pork was awesome
RobD: happy birthday
TickledPink's son J: don't get too close to the pool and thanks to you and N for fetching the fire wood

Thanks Mall cop and very patient wife! We all had a great time. Also thanks to Macphisto for the super awesome fireworks. I think my children have dried out from their "swimming"

I was rather impressed with my wife. She was social, enjoyed herself, only called for minimal reinforcements, enjoyed everyone's company, and repeatedly demonstrated she could go from sound asleep to Cell phoning "WTF are you DOING out there?!" in under 10 seconds.

All that and she didn't throw anything when I mentioned we HAVE to do this again when more people can come.

Yep. We have this thing called a calendar & put the event on it so we don't forget. Now just to keep it up to date with everything. We're getting a little older & some help remmebering things sometimes. :o
