The Maplewood Police Department is building a Fallen Officer Memorial to honor the sacrifice made by Sgt. Joe Bergeron on May 1, 2010.

SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 2:00-10:00 pm

It was a great event. A big crowd from late afternoon through the evening.
Saw a uniformed, and mustachioed MGT mod chasing the ladies around while driving a yellow 'golf cart'.
The highlight of the event was the live auction: Watching some of Maplewood's finest on stage auctioning a DPMS AR-15, a JP rifle, and a Glock pistol, enthusiastically describing the features of each really contrasted the image I recall of a former Maplewood Chief, along with a former St Paul Chief posing with sarah brady, quite literally as poster boys for gun control.

I put my hand down on both rifles when the price shot north of 1k, but did buy a ride-along certificate.
Good food, beer.
After the auction GB Leighton took to the stage.
