west end get together

I'm thinking about getting a west end get together together. Dinner, Range time, who knows???

I was thinking of doing something that's further out west, think x-burbs? something so the members from wright, meeker and western hennipen will be able to make it?

Perhaps something in Delano, or Buffalo? I'm open to suggestion, Pat has told me to get my ass in gear on this.

Waverly Gun Club has "Open Shoots", next one on the 21st of June, and since I am a member, I could also coordinate an event on another (open) date.

Waverly is about 10 miles or so from Buffalo. There is a good breakfast place in Waverly called "Waverly Cafe" (original huh?)...

I am busier than a one-armed paper hanger, but would like to do this as well.

I was thinking someplace a bit more east, just so we can get the folks from the western burbs to join, and I'm still trying to keep it far enough west that you and Dick would be able to make it if you wanted without driving for an hour and a half.

I should also add that none of us are very pleasing to look at, and often eateries have dim light and waitresses that look far better in "flare" than you do. Besides, if we're busy futzing around with cooking crap, when are we suppose to BS and get our ducks in a row for the next legislative session?

Maybe we should start our own 12 step group. Ugly Gunners Anonymous... It would give our wives and others that have to look at us in fully lit rooms some hope.

Step 1 - We admitted we were ugly, and our gun loving had become unmanageable
Step 2 - Came to believe that no Power greater than ourselves (except our firearms) could make us attractive
Step 3 - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to our ability to shoot straight under pressure
Step 4 - Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our guns and ammunition
Step 5 - Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact location of our safe keys
Step 6 - Were entirely somewhat ready to have God remove bless all these defects of character
Step 7 - Humbly asked God to make us more attrative, or get us more guns... whichever is more feasible
Step 8 - Made a list of all persons who think like us, and became willing to meet in dark restaurants
Step 9 - Made direct amends to a select few people, except when to do so would cause us discomfort
Step 10 - Continued to take firearms inventory and when we count wrong promptly add more guns
Step 11 - Sought through prayer and medication to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood God, praying only for more guns and the finances to carry that out
Step 12 - Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other addicts, and to practice shooting scenarios in all our affairs

I've done some conversing and I'm thinking the Third Saturday for a west end dinner. Most likely in Buffalo just for the ease of location. Any suggestions on an eatery? crAppleBee's, buffalo bar and grill.... ?

UGA-Chucka - summertime Saturday evenings are tough since there are so many things going on, but if I am able, I will attend.

3rd Saturday would give us an open range to shoot at before dinner (for FREE) at the Waverly Gun Club. Heck, we could even have pizza delivered there There are a couple (17,706 according to a Google search) of restaurants near there -

A good German restaurant - Bayrischer Hof
A good bar/grill - Great Northern
A good greasy spoon - Red's Cafe
And a new restaurant in Waverly - can't remember the name
