If you are looking for 3 gun, check out the info above. If you mean just tactical rifle then there is only one event that I know of in town and that is down at Faribault Rifle and Pistol Club "Joe's and Pro's Rifle Shooting" and the event is in its infancy as it just started up last month. The next match will be on the 20th of July. Nate Berg runs the matches and he is planning on 1 each month year round.
A quick breakdown of how it works right now.
2 classes "Joe's" and "Pro's"
You are only competing with yourself (at this time), no one goes home with 1st place in Pro's each month.
At close range we shoot disposable targets (paper, golf balls, plastic army men, ect)
At longer ranges we shoot steel targets, some reactive (flashers) and some that just ring.
No caliber restrictions (once we have all magnum rated steel). For now no magnums (300 Win Mag, 338 LM, 50 BMG, ect).
As I mentioned this match is still in its infancy and the way things work are going to change until we have a few matches under our belts.
Some shooting stages are timed, some are not.
The guy hosting this is Nate Berg and you can find out more info by emailing him at

-Shoot 40-300 yards
-This is geared towards the average "joe" who wants to get more proficient with their rifle, be it for hunting, target shooting
-Typically easier shooting situations like from a hunting blind, from a fence post, from prone in cleared areas
Pro's
-Shoot 40-600 yards
-This is geared towards the guys looking to work out at a farther distance, long range tactical shooters and professionals (LEO, SWAT, Military, ect)
-Shooting positions can be must more creative, we may be in the woods, could be shooting from in the bed of a pickup, or on a trailer that is moving.
