Benny I appreciate the offer. I'm digging shooting the points matches this year. The stages are beyond my abilities and I love the challenge. I just noticed I won't make the August match unless it gets changed to the 10th, like it says it might. The 17th is the section match and I already sent in my money for it.

Its amazing what you find when you do some searching in the forums. This is exactly the kind of shoot I've been looking for since I made my way back here to MN from VA. Shot a few steel shoots while I was living in VA and fell in love with shooting steel for time and competing against yourself and others. Shooting little green pop up men while I was in the army a few times a year just didn't have the same feel as pulling the trigger and hearing that "ping" afterwards. I will have to make my way out to participate before that white stuff that I haven't seen a lot of since I moved down to the south makes it way back here.

Does anyone know whether the August date is the 10th or the 17th? I'm unable to make the 10th but would love to make the 17th my first steel shoot.

Still the 17th AFAIK. Which means I checked the calendar on MNGunsite and I searched posts here for anything by Selurcspi including the word "august" and found nothing to the contrary, so I'm 96.704% certain.

Thanks Pat. I too searched, but wanted to make sure I had not overlooked something and show up, with nobody there. I want to go very badly, I'm just nervous because I am not only "The FNG" but I'm somewhat disabled and mobility challenged as well. I just don't want to slow down the process nor cause hardship on anyone else.

Dont worry Jim, you wont be the only FNG there, I plan on attending for the first time out there. Not my first steel shoot, but it will be new to me. New stages, new people, and new rules to abide by. So between you and I there will be at least 2 nervous FNG's. LOL

I was hoping to attend my first Steel Shoot event this August, but the wife decided she might be giving birth around that date. When I asked if she could hold it a bit longer I got a very scary look :evil:
