2nd Saturday meet up: Mr. Pig Stuff, Shakopee

Postby MN-RKBA on Thu Nov 07, 2013 8:13 pm

Twin Cities Gun Owners & Carry Forum plans a social meet ups for each 2nd Saturday of each month. Please join us!

This Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, we will be meeting for lunch at 2A-friendly Mr. Pig Stuff in Shakopee, 11a - 1p, but come whenever you can.

Details and RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/172489152949022/

Where:
Mr. Pig Stuff
1561 1st Ave. E.
Shakopee, MN 55379
Website: http://www.mrpigstuff.com/

(Please show appreciation to businesses that allow lawful carry by tipping generously and include a business card or note in the tip jar that states: Lawful carry allowed = $$)

Why: A great chance to meet other like-minded people in a casual setting once per month.

***Thanks to a page member for pro-actively having a conversation with the business owner about their lawful carry policy and telling the owner about our group.

Why participate in meet ups and events? It’s more important than ever that we strengthen the local law abiding gun owners’ community. We do that by making connections, sharing information and learning how we can support others who share our values and concerns. You are encouraged to exchange business cards or other helpful info at meet ups. Support your fellow gun owners who have local businesses and service companies, etc. Share info about products, training and experiences to help other gun owners.

GENERAL INFO:
--Open carry is welcomed at meet ups, but not required**.

--This is NOT a "rally," "demonstration" or "protest." It's simply friends and new friends meeting for social activity. Period.

--We meet up on the second Saturday of each month at a Twin Cities metro area coffee shop, restaurant or gathering spot, and we’ll try to hold them on all sides of the metro to give everyone a chance to participate at least once in a while. If you'd like to participate in this meet up or be notified of future meet ups, email info@Minnesota2A.com for more information.

**(Note: You must have a valid permit to carry a firearm which is recognized by the state of Minnesota in order to carry a firearm on your person. Minnesota has no requirement to conceal if you have a valid permit-to-carry; open carry is legal in MN with permit. Know the law: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=624.714

Thanks for posting. I hope to attend this Sat. I won't be carrying open, only because I don't own a open carry holster for my G-30. Rest assured, the Big Dog is "Packin"

If it wasn't deer opener, I would love to attend. I have yet to partake in functions like this and hope to do so in the future.

Twin Cities Gun Owners 2nd Saturday meet up at Mr. Pig Stuff, Shakopee

We ended up with 40 people showing up for lunch at Mr. Pig Stuff BBQ and Catering in Shakopee, including several parents with kids, which is great to see... and on opening hunting weekend! Thanks to page member Dan H. for helping us connect with the venue.

Made some great connections and had some excellent conversations with people.

The new organizer for the Minnesota Pink Pistols, Mark Steiger, joined us and we had a great conversation about collaborating on outreach, action and PR. They are just getting the organization revitalized after sitting dormant for a few years, so that's really exciting news and we'll be sure to post their website and FB page as soon as they get it re-established, and we look forward to joining forces with them as we move forward.

We also had a local law enforcement officer join us (off duty) who is a page member, and had a VERY interesting conversation and got some interesting insight into lack of prosecution on gun crimes in Hennepin County (more to come about that later).

We were also joined by newly elected St. Peter City Councilman Roger Parras, who wants to help us get a similar MN Carry Day & Safety Education Expo set up for the south metro area (like we had at Zylstra Elk River last weekend).

And we connected with the chairman of the American Legion Post 435 Gun Club and had a great conversation. Post 435 American Legion

Gretchen Morris from Pistol Packin Mamas was on hand and gave away some door prizes, so thanks to PPM! Please give PPM a "Like" on FB and support this new business geared toward women gun owners/shooters.

Mr. Pig Stuff is 2A friendly and they have great food and a great space for gatherings, so check them out when you're in the south/west metro. Tell the Twin Cities Gun Owners & Carry Forum sent you.

Save the date Saturday, Dec. 14 for our next meet up. Location and exact time TBD (will post on this forum).

I'm not complaining (Lord knows, I LOVE good BBQ), but your scheduling conflicts with another long-standing MGT get together.
