+1000!!

Thanks a lot for the generosity, and participation! I believe that we have decided to make the check out directly for the toys for tots foundation, as they need cash as well as toys to keep this organization running. We can hope that the mailings are a success as well, don't forget the cost and time involved in that also! Really, everyone thanks for stepping up to the plate. This goes to show that we really can make a difference :D :D

You realize of course, that this means I'm raising the bar on our goal don't you? Keep giving if you can, and we need to set a date for the dropoff and holiday party.

Where/What's the info I need to set up either a donation by or a collection of toys from my gun club? The club meeting is Tuesday the 28th @ 7pm... perhaps Strad can make it out to Delano for some shooting then toy/donation scoring?

Well Ladies and Gents, we are making some headway. Thanks to some recent toy and cash donations (as you can see by the updated totals) we are now up to almost $550 in cash donations (350 of which will be donated to the foundation directly in cash form) and 13 toys!! Again, this is a great start, but lets blow the lid off of this thing!

New goal, prospective auction gun not withstanding....... I would consider this thing to be a great success (not that it isn't already :D ) if we could get the totals up to $1,000 cash, and 50 toys......... LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!

Regardless of the totals, I was thinking about how to handle the dropoff. I would love it if we could get some of the children of the forum members together for a "shopping spree" to purchase toys for the dropoff. I will have all of the donations (minus the checks written to T4T directly) converted to cash, and we could subsequently turn that cash into toys. I will work on getting the checks to T4T, and would like to know if there is any interest in making a group dropoff at a local drop location (please post or PM if interested). After the drop, we could congreate are Area 52 (generously offered for use by David Slam) for a group potluck to really get us in the holiday mood after a long and dreary economic and political season, I think this would do most of us some good.

Please post other ideas, and let''s keep in mind that it takes time for the fantastic and selfless people of the Marines to process this stuff for distribution, so I'd like to put a deadline of donations at no later than December 10th.

Lets do this for the Kids people, there are some out there that genuinly need reassurance that the world doesn't suck.

For those of you who have already donated, a big thumbs up, and :thankyou: from me....... for those of you who haven't, and would like to, there is still time!!!

Oh yeah, and for those of you who come over from the other boards to check up on the "daycare" but don't post, you are welcome to join in on this as well ;)

Nah, if you're already doing it, what's the point. :P

I have just noticed two more VERY generous donations in the paypal account, brings the new total up to......... drumroll please..........

$759.25 and 13 toys :booyah:

Keep digging for spare change, there is still time left to donate!!!!! We can still hit our $1000 dollar goal!! I will stop taking donations on December 1st, to have ample time for purchasing toys and converting pay-pal to cash before the dropoff.

Lest start working on a date for the gathering shall we? Any ideas? I would also like a show of hands from those who would like to take their kids on a T4T shopping spree....... It would be a great afternoon!
