Qualcorp Passed Away

Hi all, it is with sad heart that I share this information with you. "Jim" qualcorp passed away on June 7, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. I thought you all might like to know.

There is scheduled a Memorial Service at his home on Sunday June 21, 2015. He did not want a funeral or services and was cremated after his passing. If or when I receive more details I'll post if possible. Otherwise PM me and I'll give you what details I receive.

RIP Jim, you were a good friend and fellow Gun Lover :salute:

Jim McConniel ended up passing away Sunday the 7th, rather suddenly considering we knew his days were numbered. He had 2 episodes of his carotid artery rupturing. The first they were able to control with a stenting procedure but the second was more severe and they couldn't overcome the rapid blood loss. He passed away while under general anesthesia so he wouldn't have panicked or suffered.

His wife is planning a memorial get-together at their home the afternoon of the 21st. Jim didn't want a formal funeral and was cremated and I think it will just be a time when friends can stop by and check in with Sharon.

He did live his whole life and sure didn't wait around to die. I'm sure he enjoyed his "rat bike" chopper and his last days shooting.

I will get more details as the week unfolds. Feel free to send this to other folks from MNGT who may have known Jim. I will find out the details of the memorial gathering and will pass those along or you can call me later this week.

Regards,

Jim Wenzel

I received this notification in a forwarded e-mail - I knew Jim and helped him with his 50BMG AR-50 target rifle - on one of his shooting days out here in the Sticks of Wisconsin. I believe he had the most fun of his last few weeks, shooting steel targets and Tannerite at 550 yards in a farmers field (with permission). He said he could not believe the accuracy potential his rifle had (his NightForce scope was much better than my Leupolds). We ended up shooting pieces of the steel target we ripped up into smaller pieces, flipping them further out, harder to see, getting smaller each time a hit was solidly connected. He literally had a BLAST, the "50-GRIN" could not be wiped off his face that day! Hopefully he took those thoughts to the grave. He will be missed.

One of the first I met from the forum as he wanted someone to meet him at Bill's that was familiar with the CZ he was looking at. Quick dis-assembly at the counter showed it was either brand new or really close so he bought it. Nice guy.

Never met him either, but he was held in high regard by those I know who had.

Rest in Peace Jim.

Sorry to hear this. Tough seeing some of these legacies leave us.

I didn't know him personally, but sorry to hear about it still. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I only knew him through the board, never met although we had talked about it several times.
Always upbeat I our email exchanges, and I'm only just now finding this thread.
RIP, my friend.
